Jalapeno Cheese Loaf


It's been raining cats and dogs in Caracas since yesterday night. Not a kind of weather to wake up in the morning. Preparing a breakfast for my beloved one like usual and I saw some rest of Manchego cheese that we bought almost 2 weeks ago and we should use it. I decided to bake something with it, since I craved for Cheese muffins - yes, with Kraft just like some years back in Jakarta when I was a child and only knew Kraft cheese. But my hubby doesn't like it. He said, Kraft isn't a real cheese. You can see the two cultures in our marriage, don't you? *wink*.


I also added some tablespoons of minced jalapeno pickles and voila, jalapeno cheese loaf fresh from the oven. Something different to spice-up the rainy day and this is also my entry for Recipe Remix: Breakfast, the event I saw by Elsye.



Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose-flour - sifted
1 cup grated Manchego cheese or any of your favorite
3 tbsp Jalapeno pickles - minced
1/2 tbsp white sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1/2 cup natural unsweetened yogurt or sour cream
1/8 cup melted butter
Lasagna or loaf tin - greased



Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt. Add cheese, mix well using a fork
Whisk yogurt or sour cream, melted butter, egg, jalapeno. Add to dry ingredients. Stir until evenly moistened. Pour the batter into greased baking tin. You can use muffin tins too
Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes or until set

  4. @ Sefa: yaaa itu vermieter malaysia bener seh. di Jerman ga ada oven tangkring sih yaa.. kalo ga, owkeh juga tuh pake itu.

    endang Fa, keju banget tapi ga bleneg karena ada pedes²nya si-jalapeno. dah dingin tetep masih endang.

  6. untungnya akuw pake yang udah dijadiin acar Yin. jadi ga terlalu pedes. soalnya dirikuw ga bisa makan klo kepedesan..
